AI Assistant Overview
Your private co-pilot for running AlonChat — ask questions, get pointed to the right page, and let it handle tasks for you.
AI Assistant Overview#
The AI Assistant is your private co-pilot for running AlonChat. It's the helper you chat with to get answers about the product, jump to the right settings page, pull quick numbers, and — when you allow it — make changes for you. Find it in your agent's sidebar under AI Assistant, or open it anywhere via the bot icon in the top bar.
This is not your customer chatbot. The AI Assistant works for you, the owner. The customer-facing agent (the one that answers your customers) is configured separately under Settings > AI. The two are independent.
What It Can Do#
- Answer "how do I…" questions about AlonChat features and setup
- Point you to the right page with one-tap navigation buttons
- Pull quick insights — "How many leads today?", "Show unanswered questions"
- Take actions for you — add a Q&A, update a promo, draft a reply — within the limits you set
- Alert you proactively about things that need attention
- Remember context so you don't repeat yourself
How It Works#
When you ask the assistant something, it figures out what kind of help you need:
- Product help — for "how do I…" questions, it searches the AlonChat documentation (these very docs) and answers from them, with a button to the relevant page when there is one.
- Navigation — when you ask where something is, it matches your question to the right dashboard page and gives you a direct link button.
- Tasks — when you ask it to do something, it runs the action using its tools — but only within the permissions you've granted. Anything sensitive asks you to confirm first.
How it stays accurate: the assistant's answers are powered by the published documentation, and its page links come from a maintained map of the dashboard. When the product changes, updating the docs is what keeps the assistant's answers current — so the help you get reflects how AlonChat actually works today.
The Assistant Panel#
Click the bot icon in the top bar to slide open the assistant panel from anywhere in the dashboard:
- Chat with the assistant for help and tasks
- Browse your recent conversations with it
- See alerts inline when something important happens, with a link to the conversation
Sections#
| Section | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Conversations | Browse your past chats with the assistant |
| Memory | Review and manage what the assistant remembers |
| Channels | Get alerts and send commands from outside the dashboard |
| Reports | Schedule automated summaries to your channels |
| Settings | Name, personality, language, permissions, and the dashboard widget |
Identity & Personality#
Under Settings, you can shape how the assistant communicates with you:
- Name — what you call it (defaults to "Alon")
- Personality & tone — how formal or casual it is
- Language — match your market's style, including Taglish
- Emoji — how much (or little) it uses
You can also enable or disable the assistant entirely here.
Memory#
The assistant can remember useful context — business facts, decisions you've made, corrections, and standing instructions — so its help gets more tailored over time. On the Memory page you can review, pin, edit, or remove what it has stored. Memory is only used to help you; it's separate from your customer chatbot's knowledge base.
Channels & Reports#
- Channels — connect Telegram (and more) to receive alerts and even issue commands to the assistant without opening the dashboard.
- Reports — turn on the built-in Business Summary, or create custom reports, and have them delivered on a schedule to your chosen channel.
Related Pages#
