Billing and Plans#
Manage your AlonChat subscription, payment methods, credit usage, and invoices.
Accessing Billing#
- Go to your project dashboard
- Click Settings in the sidebar
- Select Billing
Or go directly to Settings > Plans to compare available options.
Available Plans#
AlonChat offers a range of plans, from a free trial to higher tiers for growing and larger businesses, plus custom arrangements for organizations with unique needs.
Visit Settings > Plans in your dashboard for the current plans, pricing, and exactly what each one includes. Prices and plan contents are subject to change, so the dashboard is always the source of truth.
What plans unlock#
Higher tiers unlock more capability. Across the plans you'll find things like:
- Access to AI models, the web chat widget and Help Page, and knowledge base features
- Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram integration
- API access and webhooks
- Advanced analytics (topics, sentiment, intents)
- Contacts and CRM with lead scoring
- Custom branding (remove AlonChat branding)
- Advanced integrations such as Google Calendar and Sheets
- AI-powered conflict detection in the knowledge base
- Priority and dedicated support, custom credit volumes, and SLAs on the top tiers

Understanding Credits#
Credits are the currency that powers your AI agent's responses. Each message your agent sends consumes credits based on which AI model it uses.
Credit Cost by Model Tier#
The credit cost per message varies by model tier -- budget models cost the least, and higher-quality models cost more.

Check the model selector in Settings > AI for current model options and their exact credit costs. Models and pricing are updated as new options become available.
How Credits Work#
- Your plan includes a monthly credit allocation
- Each AI response deducts credits based on the model tier used
- When credits run out, the agent stops responding until credits are replenished
- You can purchase credit add-ons at any time
Credit Tips#
- Use budget models for straightforward queries to stretch your allocation
- Reserve premium models for conversations that require higher quality
- Monitor your usage in the Usage dashboard
- Enable low-credit alerts to avoid unexpected downtime
Payment Methods#
AlonChat processes payments through PayMongo.
Accepted Methods#

Adding a Payment Method#
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Payment Methods
- Click Add Payment Method
- Choose the type and enter your details
- Complete any required verification
Default Payment Method#
To set which method is used for recurring subscription charges:
- Find the payment method in your list
- Click Set as Default
Managing Your Subscription#
Upgrading#
- Go to Settings > Plans
- Select a higher plan
- Confirm payment
- The upgrade takes effect immediately
When you upgrade mid-cycle, you receive a pro-rated credit for unused time on your current plan.
Downgrading#
- Go to Settings > Plans
- Select a lower plan
- Confirm the change
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You keep full access to your current plan until then.
Canceling#
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Select a reason
- Confirm cancellation
After cancellation:
- You retain access until the end of your current billing period
- Your data is retained for 30 days after the period ends
- You can reactivate at any time
Credit Add-ons#
Need more credits without upgrading your plan? Purchase add-on credit packs from Settings > Plans under the Credit Packs section.
Purchasing Add-ons#
- Go to Settings > Plans
- Scroll to Credit Packs
- Click Buy on the pack you want
- Complete payment
- Credits are added immediately
How Add-on Credits Work#
- Add-on credits are used after your monthly plan credits are consumed
- Available add-on packs and pricing are shown in your dashboard
- Credits from add-on packs have their own validity period (shown at purchase)
Auto-Replenish#
For subscription plans, you can enable auto-replenish to automatically purchase additional credits when your balance drops below a threshold. Configure this in Settings > Billing.
Invoices and Receipts#
Viewing Invoices#
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Invoice History
- View or download any invoice
Invoice Contents#
Each invoice includes:
- Invoice number
- Billing period
- Plan details and credit allocation
- Amount charged
- Payment method used
Downloading for Accounting#
Click Download PDF on any invoice. Invoices include all relevant tax information and are valid for business expense reporting.
Billing Cycle#
Monthly Billing#
- Charged on the same day each month
- Example: If you started on March 15, you are billed on the 15th each month
- Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle
Annual Billing#
- Charged once per year
- Savings compared to monthly billing (check your dashboard for current rates)
- Pro-rated charges apply when upgrading mid-cycle
Troubleshooting#
Payment Failed#
- Check your card or account balance
- Verify your payment method details are current
- Try an alternative payment method
- Contact support if the issue persists
Credits Not Showing#
- Wait a few minutes for payment processing to complete
- Refresh the page
- Check the transaction in your billing history
- Contact support with your payment confirmation
Subscription Not Active#
- Verify the payment completed successfully
- Check for a failed payment notification in your email
- Update your payment method if needed
- Contact support
Frequently Asked Questions#
What happens if I run out of credits?#
Your AI agent stops responding to new messages. You can purchase a credit add-on pack immediately or wait for your monthly credit refresh at the next billing cycle.
Is there a free trial?#
Yes, new accounts receive a trial period with credits to explore the platform. Check the current trial offer on the signup page.
Do unused credits roll over?#
Monthly plan credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Credit add-on packs have their own validity period as shown at purchase.
Can I get a refund?#
Contact support@alonchat.com within the first few days of your subscription to discuss refund options.
How do I know which model tier to use?#
Start with a mid-tier model for balanced quality and cost. If your agent handles mostly simple questions (business hours, pricing), a budget model works well. For complex conversations (technical support, detailed product recommendations), consider a premium or top-tier model.
