Time-Sensitive Content
Add promotions, events, and limited-time offers that automatically expire so your agent never gives outdated information
Time-Sensitive Content#
Time-Sensitive Content lets you add information with start and expiration dates. Your agent automatically starts mentioning the content when it becomes active and stops when it expires -- so customers never hear about promotions that ended last week.
What Is Time-Sensitive Content?#
Some information is only valid for a limited time:
- Promotions and sales
- Event announcements
- Limited-time offers
- Seasonal menus or services
- Temporary policies or hours
- Flash sales and discount codes
Time-Sensitive Content handles the lifecycle automatically. You set the dates, and your agent takes care of the rest.
Adding Time-Sensitive Content#
- Go to your agent's dashboard
- Click Sources in the sidebar, then open Time-Sensitive
- Click Add Content
- Fill in the content fields
- Set the start and end dates
- Save
Content Fields#
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Brief, descriptive name for this content | Yes |
| Content | The full information your agent should communicate | Yes |
| Start Date | When the content becomes active (if not set, it is active immediately) | Optional |
| End Date | When the content expires and is hidden from your agent | Yes |
| Priority | Higher priority content is mentioned more prominently | Optional |
How the Lifecycle Works#
- Draft: A new entry starts as a draft. If you set a future start date, it stays inactive until that date arrives
- Active: During the valid period (between start and end dates), the content is available to your agent
- Paused: You can pause an entry at any time to temporarily stop your agent from using it, without deleting it
- Expired: After the end date, the content is automatically excluded from answers -- your agent will not mention it
- Archived: Archive entries you no longer need to keep them out of your active list while preserving them for reference
Active transitions happen automatically based on the dates you set. Draft, paused, and archived are states you control.

Managing Time-Sensitive Content#
View All Content#
See all time-sensitive content on the dashboard with status indicators:
- Draft -- not yet active (or waiting for a future start date)
- Active -- currently available to your agent
- Paused -- temporarily held back by you
- Expired -- past its end date, excluded from answers
- Archived -- set aside for reference
Extend an Offer#
If a promotion is doing well and you want to extend it:
- Click Edit on the content
- Change the end date to a later date
- Click Save
End Early#
If you need to end content before its scheduled end date:
- Click Edit on the content
- Change the end date to today or a past date
- Click Save
The content will immediately stop being used by your agent.
Delete Old Content#
Click Delete to remove content permanently. You can also archive expired content to keep it for reference. Either way, expired content is automatically excluded from your agent's answers once its end date passes.
Best Practices#
- Set realistic end dates -- double-check expiration dates before saving
- Use clear titles -- make content easy to identify in the dashboard (e.g., "Summer Sale 2026" not "Sale")
- Test before launch -- set a start date slightly in the future, then verify your agent mentions the content correctly
- Include all details -- discount codes, conditions, links, and any fine print
- Clean up regularly -- review and delete old expired content periodically
- Overlap carefully -- if you have multiple active promotions, make sure they do not conflict with each other
Automatic Cleanup#
Expired content is automatically:
- Excluded from your agent's answers immediately after the end date
- Moved to the "Expired" tab for your reference
From there you can archive it to keep it for reference, or delete it permanently when you no longer need it.
