Facebook Import#

Import your Facebook Page conversations to train your AI agent on real customer interactions. AlonChat connects directly to your Facebook Page via OAuth, analyzes your past conversations, and extracts Q&A patterns and communication style.


Overview#

Facebook Import allows you to:

  • Analyze past conversations from your Facebook Page's Messenger
  • Extract Q&A patterns -- common questions customers ask and how you responded
  • Learn your communication style -- tone, formality, and personality from real responses
  • Build your knowledge base from actual customer interactions

Prerequisites#

Before importing, make sure you have:

  • A Facebook Page connected to AlonChat
  • Admin access to the Facebook Page
  • At least 50 conversations for best results

How to Import#

Step 1: Navigate to Chat Training#

  1. Go to your agent's dashboard
  2. Click Sources in the sidebar
  3. Select Chat Training

Step 2: Connect Facebook (if not already connected)#

  1. Click Connect Facebook
  2. Log in to Facebook when prompted
  3. Select your business page
  4. Grant the required permissions

Step 3: Select Conversations#

  1. Click Import from Facebook
  2. Set a date range (the last 30 days is recommended to start)
  3. Review the conversation preview
  4. Click Analyze Conversations

Step 4: Review Extracted Q&As#

AlonChat's AI analyzes your conversations and extracts:

  • Common questions customers ask
  • Your typical responses
  • Patterns in your communication

Review each extracted Q&A pair:

  • Approve -- add to your knowledge base
  • Edit -- modify the Q&A before adding
  • Reject -- skip this pair

Step 5: Train Your Agent#

  1. Approve or edit the extracted Q&A items you want to keep
  2. Click Train Agent to incorporate the new knowledge

Privacy and Security#

Your data is protected:

  • Encrypted during import and storage
  • Processed within your account only
  • Never shared with other users or third parties
  • You can delete imported data at any time

Customer personally identifiable information (names, emails) is automatically anonymized during import.


Best Practices#

  1. Start with recent conversations -- the last 30-90 days provides the best training data
  2. Review carefully -- prioritize quality over quantity
  3. Edit answers -- improve extracted answers before adding them
  4. Re-import periodically -- capture new patterns as your business evolves
  5. Combine with Q&A pairs -- manually fill gaps that the import did not cover

Troubleshooting#

"No conversations found"#

  • Check that your Facebook Page is connected
  • Verify the selected date range has messages
  • Ensure Messenger is enabled on your Page

"Import failed"#

  • Try refreshing your Facebook connection
  • Check your Facebook Page permissions
  • Contact support if the issue persists
