Instagram Import#
Import your Instagram Direct Message history to train your agent on real customer interactions.
Why Import Instagram DMs?#
Your Instagram conversations contain:
- How you respond to inquiries
- Common questions from followers
- Your brand's natural voice
- Product/service questions
Exporting from Instagram#
Step 1: Request Your Data#
- Open Instagram
- Go to Settings → Your Activity → Download Your Information
- Select Messages only
- Choose JSON format
- Request download
Step 2: Download#
- Wait for email from Instagram (can take up to 48 hours)
- Click the download link
- Save the ZIP file
Importing to AlonChat#
- Go to your agent dashboard
- Navigate to Sources → Instagram Import
- Click Upload Instagram Export
- Select your ZIP file
- Wait for processing
Selecting Conversations#
After upload:
- View the list of conversations
- Check conversations to import
- Uncheck personal or irrelevant chats
- Click Import Selected

Next Steps#
After importing:
- Review Q&As: Check the extracted question-answer pairs
- Train: Click Train to process the new content
- Test: Verify your agent uses the imported knowledge
